The Lowcountry has no shortage of beautiful outdoor spaces to explore.  We thought we would take a moment to share some of the top local dog-friendly parks in our area where your furry family members might enjoy an adventure.

Palmetto Island County Park:  A paradise for pups who love to explore nature.  With plenty of green space, trails and a dog park for both large and small dogs, it’s a sniff-tastic escape from the noise & traffic that can come with downtown and suburban living.

James Island County Park:  This park is a canine wonderland with large open areas for running and a dog park with space for both large and small dogs as well as a dog washing station for a post-playtime cleanup.

Hazel Parker Playground Dog Park:  Nestled in the heart of downtown, this cozy spot is perfect for urban dogs looking to socialize and play in a safe, enclosed area.

Mixson Ave Bark Park: This fenced and shaded park in North Charleston features activities for pets, benches for their humans, and a pet water station.

Isle of Palms Bark Park:  Located behind the IOP Rec Center, this Bark Park has a combination of sand and grass – perfect for the beach loving pup!

Each of these parks offer a unique experience for your and your pup. So grab the leash, pack some treats and discover your new favorite doggy destination in Charleston!  As always when you are out an about with you pup, please be sure to follow local leash laws to keep your pet, you and others safe!
